Water is one of the easiest and most exciting ways to introduce children to basic science concepts. Simple water experiments for kids can spark curiosity, encourage observation, and make learning feel like play.
Fill a bowl with water and collect small safe objects like spoons, leaves, or toy blocks. Ask your child to guess which items will float or sink before placing them in.
Take three glasses of water and add a few drops of food colour in each. Let your child mix two colors together and watch new shades appear.
Arrange glasses in a line with coloured water and connect them using folded tissue paper. Over time, your child will notice the water slowly “walking” between glasses.
Place ice cubes in different spots, sunlight, shade, or a bowl of water to complete such water experiments for kids. Ask your child to observe which melts faster.
Mix soap and water to create bubbles using straws or bubble wands. Encourage your child to experiment with making bigger or smaller bubbles.
