Introduction

Winter is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. The air is cold, the leaves begin to fall, and everything suddenly looks picturesque. It's also that time of the year when one can just cozy up in their blankets and enjoy themselves with giggles. Because of such low temperatures, a person may not feel like doing a lot of physical activity. However, it does not mean that kids can be allowed to use mobile phones or watch TV endlessly.

There are many cozy activities in winter that one can do indoors. While these do not disturb a person's comfort levels, they can ensure fun, learning, and enjoyment. The best part is that the whole family can come together and do these in their leisure time.

Cozy Indoor Activities for Kids to Keep Them Active

Kid writing

This winter season, parents and kids can stay cozy and have a fun time without having to step outside. Here is a list of activities that can ensure lots of fun and entertainment. Most of these are indoor and can be played with materials already available at home.

Hidden Snowball Game

A hidden snowball game can be an indoor activity for toddlers. To play this, parents can simply arrange socks or mittens in different colors. These can be put in front of the child. Only one of the socks or the mitten will have a small snowball-like thing. The snowball could be made from paper or cotton. Now the child has to find out where the snowball is in as few attempts as possible. It is a fun and unpredictable game.

Mini Snow Machine

A mini snow machine can be made at home using two plastic cups, a small battery, and propellers. One can simply assemble the battery inside a plastic cup by creating a hole at the bottom. Now, take a colorful sheet and cut it into small pieces, and add it to the plastic cup. Attach another plastic cup above to create a cylindrical structure. Put the battery on, and one would see that the colourful paper cuts start flying instantly.

Indoor Snow Ball

Even if it doesn't snow in one's surroundings, one can make a small snowman with crushed ice from the fridge. For this, parents may freeze some eggs in the refrigerator and then take them out. This ice can be crushed with the help of any harder material kept at home, such as a bottle. Once the ice is crushed into small particles, it can be used to make a snowman, a small heart, or any other thing that a child wants to make. The best part is that one doesn't have to go out to make a snowman. It can be literally made at home, sitting on one's bed.

Balloon Tennis

Balloon tennis is a very entertaining game that can be played by simply inflating a balloon. Instead of using a ball to play tennis, this tennis game can be played using a small racket and a balloon. This makes it indoor-friendly as a balloon would not make anything fall from its place. The game can be played in singles or doubles and may have similar rules to regular tennis.

Indoor Camping

Indoor camping can be the ultimate adventurous experience for kids as well as parents. One can organize a camping party by setting up a small camp using a bedsheet and a few items. Inside this Camp, one can add lots of pillows, fairy lights, and soft toys to make it nice and cosy. Parents can arrange eight tables and organise a small movie night where everyone can watch the movie while staying in the camp. It can also be turned into a horror story night to make it even more interesting.

Snowman Bowling

Snowman bowling is a winter craft activity that can also be turned into a game. To create a bowling ball, one can inflate a balloon and put something heavy inside it such as a toffee or an eraser to create some weight. Once this is done. One can make small cylindrical pins with the help of paper and cardboard. These can be organised in a group of six and pinned down by a bowling ball. This activity is the perfect blend of art and gaming.

Cocoa Spoons

The list would be incomplete without adding something related to winter special cooking. This is a no-fuss winter activity in which one can customize chocolate brownies. Parents and kids get together to make a mixture of flour, chocolate powder, baking soda, sugar, and some other ingredients. Once this is done, a little bit of this mixture can be poured on a bamboo spoon. All these bamboo spoons can be put inside the microwave and baked for 10 to 15 minutes. After some time, one would see small spoonfuls of brownies that can be eaten as it is.
